If you’re planning a trip to Thailand, it’s probably all that you can think about. I imagine you’re probably sat right now counting down the minutes until you get to jet off. Well, we’re here to tell you that there’s a better way that you can spend your time. Because if you want to get the most out of your vacation, the best way of doing it is by planning ahead. Now, we realize that there are probably a million things that you’d much rather be doing with your time. You probably have outfits to plan and bikinis to buy. So, to help free up some of your precious time, we’ve devised this simple vacation checklist.
Get All Necessary Inoculations
The last thing that anyone wants is to pay a lot of money for a luxury vacation only to fall ill whilst they’re away. The only effective way to prevent this is by ensuring that you have all the necessary inoculations. Drinking contaminated water can lead to you contracting typhoid and hepatitis A, unless you protect yourself before traveling. Anti-malaria medication is also essential, as mosquito bites can lead to you contracting this potentially fatal disease.
Read Up on the Culture
Thai culture differs greatly to that of the Westernized culture that you’ve grown accustomed to. So, you could end up offending the natives without intending to. That’s why it’s prudent to do a little research before you go. Read up about any customs or traditions that are upheld in the area you’re visiting to help prevent such misunderstandings.
Learn Some Language Basics
We’re not saying that you should become fluent in the language, but it’s worth brushing up on some of the basics. Learn a few simple phrases that you’re most likely to need. This might include ‘thank you’, or ‘how much does this cost, please?’. English is spoken in many parts of Thailand. But it’s a way of showing respect for the natives if you make an attempt to learn some of their language. Plus, many people find that visiting Thailand just once simply isn’t enough. So, there’s a strong chance that you’ll be looking for a nearby cozy Koh Samui villa for sale within moments of touching down. Therefore, learning some language basics may end up proving to be very useful in the long-term.
Get Travel Insurance
It’s always wise to get insurance no matter where you happen to be traveling. No one wants to think about falling ill or having an accident when on vacation. But sadly it does sometimes happen. The last thing you want is to be worrying about medical costs and getting the right treatment when you’re thousands of miles away from home. So, even if you don’t think you’ll ever need it, when it comes to your health, it’s always better to be overly cautious than not cautious enough.
The better prepared you are means, the less you’ll have to worry about when you’re away. That leaves you free to soak up all the sights and sounds and hopefully have the vacation in Thailand that you’ve always dreamt of.
